Upwards of 30,000 fatalities have been confirmed after a major earthquake hit Turkey and Syria almost a week ago.

The quake, measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale, struck in the early hours of the morning, local time, causing devastating and widespread structural damage. Many areas have experienced no fewer than 285 aftershocks since.

113 people have been detained on suspicion of bypassing building standards, which may have contributed to the catastrophe.

Rescue efforts are ongoing, and the death toll is expected to rise significantly.

現状でも恐ろしい数値になっていますが、状況が判明するに従い、数値は跳ね上がる恐れがあると予測しています。さらには、シリアも状況を把握出来ていないのではないでしょうか？　把握数値が少ないように感じています。アサド政権が国家統治出来ていないのではないでしょうか・・・。
