The UK Defence Ministry has confirmed that Russia likely lost hundreds of troops in the HIMARS strike in the town of Makiivka on New Year’s Day.

Russian commanders had foolishly stuffed hundreds of conscripts in one single building that starkly stood out against its surroundings, and was located right next to a gigantic ammo dump.

Ukrainian services caught wind of this and prepared a wonderful New Year’s salute in the form of a HIMARS barrage that demolished the building, causing the ordnance to detonate, and killing all troops inside. All that was left after the strike were bits of charred Russian uniforms and not a trace of the wearer.

Russia did admit the strike, but said that ‘only 89’ soldiers were killed, which means that the true figure was several multiples of that.
