Ukrainian special services have commenced a search and destroy mission to ferret out Russian troops wearing civilian troops in the recently liberated city of Kherson.

The remnants of the Russian army in the area were issued a last order that amounted to ‘every man for himself’ in recent days. Most troops fled across the Dnipro River using any available means. Many drowned during the perilous crossing.

Ukrainian intelligence services have reason to believe that some Russian soldiers decided to steal civilian clothes in an attempt to blend in with the locals within Kherson. Once found, the fate of these stragglers is in no doubt.
