Dr Tony Holohan is now said to be extremely concerned as case numbers seem to be skyrocketing again.

Irish health authorities have reported 2,855 new coronavirus infections over the past 24h.

Health authorities have also confirmed that there currently are 515 with severe coronavirus disease across Irish hospitals. It is unclear how many of these were fully vaccinated.
