The UK is reporting the highest number of coronavirus cases in six months, just ahead of the total lifting of lockdown conditions.

There were almost 50,000 new infections reported. This figure is just behind the almost 56,000 cases reported on January 15.

 

It emerged today that over 500,000 people were pinged by a Covid app in recent days, recommending self-isolation after being in close contact with someone who tested positive for the disease.
