US President Joe Biden has approved $1bn in new weaponry to help Ukraine defeat the Russian invader.

It is understood that Mr. Biden spoke personally with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky to communicate the good news.

The current President’s attitude contrasts starkly with that of the disgraced former President Trump, who withheld weapons from Mr. Zelensky unless he ‘dug up dirt for Joe Biden’, to help him politically.

This fact led directly to Mr. Trump’s first impeachment.
