Iceland’s COVID-19 Incidence Remains Unique

The COVID-19 situation in Iceland is unique with regard to the 14-day incidence per 100,000 inhabitants, mbl.is reports. This figure stands at 5.77, according to the ECDC, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, which updates its figures every Thursday.
On covid.is, which was updated at 11 am, the incidence rate is now as low as 3.3. Cases confirmed at the border count for 3.0 of that figure, while the domestic 14-day incidence per 100,000 inhabitants stands at 0.3.
According to the ECDC, the highest 14-day incidence among the Nordic countries is in Sweden, or 487.64. In Norway, that figure is 83.86, in Denmark 118.38, and in Finland 140.17.
The European countries with the highest 14-day incidence per 100,000 inhabitants are Czechia, with 1,395.10, and Estonia, with 1,038.47.
The World Health Organization warned yesterday that the number of new cases of COVID-19 was on the rise again in Europe, after having dropped in recent weeks.

各国で温度差があるのは当然のこととしてもアイスランドは別格のようです。しかし、WHOが警告を発しているように、EU全体としては再び上昇に転じていると思われます。
特にイタリアやフランスが気になるところです。一方、EUから離脱したUKは下降傾向を辿っているように見えます。それはワクチン接種（1回目）が国民の31％に行われていることも影響しているのかも知れません。

それにしても、EUの状態がこのようなレベルで、2021年の五輪開催など可能性は無いと考えるべきではないでしょうか。また、一日本国民として、開催強行に伴う感染再爆発の懸念を感じますので、無観客でも開催には反対します。サッサと態度表明すべきです。その方がCOVID19撲滅活動に集中できます。日本での死者は8千人を超えています。これ以上、早すぎる死を迎える人を出すな！ と言いたい。
